Cannes

Whilst you may be under the impression that the name Cannes equates to expense, the team here at Property Chic have sourced a number of top class properties for sale in Cannes at very reasonable prices. Read on and learn what it is that makes Cannes such a popular destination and realise why investing in a property here makes perfect sense!

Beneath its celebrity veneer, Cannes is a city rich in rewards for travellers. This resort is world famous for its annual International film festival, which has become its largest attraction since it was introduced in 1939.

Although a sense of normality returns when the media circus leaves town, some parts of the city remain exclusive. There are always luxury yachts moored alongside the bay owned mainly by the rich and famous, exclusive hotels with private beaches and many designer boutiques have stores on the town’s shopping area. In Cannes, you are never far from the resorts cinematic heritage. In the new town there are murals and wall paintings depicting some of Hollywood’s finest and the Alles des Stars is Cannes’s version of the Hollywood walk of fame, where actors have left their handprints in the pavements.

However, being rich and famous is not a requirement to enjoy the resort of Cannes. The old town has a charming atmosphere with its winding narrow streets and spectacular views of the Cote d’Azure. Those who climb the lofty slopes will be rewarded for their efforts and can enjoy the view from the remains of the fortified tower.

A trip to the islands of St Marguerite and St Honorat are recommended. St. Honorat is the island where the Man in the Iron Mask was incarcerated, and visitors are able to step inside his cell which is now part of the Muse de la Mer.

Cannes boasts over seven and a half kilometres of sandy beaches which are protected from the large waves by an underwater barrier. On the waterside you will find plenty of activities for the kids and for sports enthusiasts including volleyball, windsurfing and kite surfing.
If Cannes has caught your eye and you want to know more about investing in a property here, simply get in touch with the team at Property Chic and avail of our ten years of expertise in the area.

Tignes

If you’re considering investing in a French ski property, then we would wholeheartedly recommend checking out villas and chalets for sale in the beautiful resort of Tignes.
Tignes is considered to be one of Europe’s premier resorts. It boasts over 300km of pistes as well as a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants. The resort is made up of a number of small villages, Tignes Les Brevieres, Tignes les Boisses, Tignes le Lavachet and Val Claret. The village of Tignes-Le-Lac is generally acknowledged as the main village.
On the surface, Tignes lacks the traditional architecture of many alpine villages and hamlets. This is because the original village was intentionally flooded to allow for the damming of the Lac du Chevril in 1952. There are also very few trees at this altitude so Tignes lacks some of the visual appeal of other French resorts. Don’t let this put you off as beauty is only skin deep! What Tignes lacks in scenery and architecture, it more than makes up for it by being able to host a wider variety of activities than other resort.
Tignes is very much a summer resort with a wonderful variety of outdoor pursuits that will keep any sporting enthusiast entertained. Mountain biking, golf, motor and water sports are all available during the summer months. Snow lovers need not be disappointed though as the Grand Motte Glacier is accessible during the summer months for the more experienced skiers to practice their freestyle skiing and the soft summer snows provide an ideal environment for beginners.

Tignes offers a great selection of accommodation to suit all budgets, however there is a shortage of luxury accommodation. The resort has approximately 75 restaurants where you can sample the traditional local cuisine or have a delicious gourmet meal. There is also a free 24 hour bus service that will help you experience each village day or night.
Tignes is ideally located within easy access of Geneva, Lyon and Chambery airports. Travel from Chambery airport to Tignes takes about 1hour and 20 minutes.
